At Occupy LA: Some Arrests, But 'Mostly Peaceful'

"Police arrested several people early Monday at the Occupy L.A. demonstration outside City Hall, but then the commotion quickly died down," the Los Angeles Times reports.

According to the newspaper, "shortly after 5 a.m., police issued an order to disperse to those demonstrators gathered at the intersection of 1st and Main streets. Most people complied, but a few demonstrators refused to leave. At one point, some protesters started throwing things at police. Several people were then arrested; one person was carried away by officers."

CBS Los Angeles also reports things are fairly quiet as of now: "At least three people were arrested, but demonstrators and police were both remaining calm as of 6:30 a.m. In fact, traffic was moving at 1st and Main streets, where protesters are gathered."
