Jackson Group Opposes Downtown Development District

Jackson, WY – After some debate, the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance is opposing the downtown redevelopment district. They say it's because all the rules and guidelines have not been resolved up front. Director Franz Camenzind says they are afraid there are not enough safeguards in the current proposal that will face voters December 9th. Camenzind says focusing growth in the town of Jackson is appropriate, but there are no mechanisms in place to keep growth from happening in the county. He fears there will not only be growth in the town of Jackson, but sprawl will continue in Teton county. Camenzind says his group would support similar attempts in the future if their questions are answered.
