Cheyenne, Wy – A worldwide helicopter leasing and maintenance company in Colorado is moving its operations to Cheyenne.
Heli-Support president Ken Roberts -- a Cheyenne resident -- says he's wanted to move his company from Fort Collins, Colorado, since 1999.
He was swayed this past year, when state lawmakers exempted aircraft parts from sales and use taxes -- something common in many other states.
Roberts plans to begin moving into the former Cheyenne Automotive building at the city's airport in the coming months. He's also leasing an old traffic control tower.
Sixty-five employees are expected to be on site by next year.
Cheyenne officials say the new jobs will diversify the city's economy.
Heli-Support is a family owned company celebrating its 50th anniversary. It deploys helicopters for firefighting and other jobs.
