Health Department To Set Up Investigation Team

Cheyenne, Wyoming – The state is requesting an outside review of the Wyoming State Hospital following the suicide of a female patient.
A team of experts from Wyoming and across the country will be compiled over the next few weeks to inspect the Evanston facility.
Health Department director Deb Fleming says such investigations aren't unusual and are used to determine if policies need updating.
An advocacy group that has sued the state over its treatment of the mentally ill is conducting its own investigation, but will be invited to join the state's review.
Protection and Advocacy System officials say they'll consider the request if it's made, but plan to continue their own probe.
An internal review launched by the hospital soon after the 43-year-old woman hanged herself March 16th is expected to wrap up in the next week.
