Laramie, Wy – So far this summer there have only been a few small wildfires in Wyoming. State Forester, Bill Crapser says a crew of inmates from the Department of Corrections went out to fight a few of these, but none got any bigger than 15 acres.
Crapser says things are changing now as the recent high temperatures are drying out all of the plants that grew this spring, that makes the risk of wildfire higher now than it has been in weeks.
Crapser says this is true throughout the state. He says as far as he knows only Johnson County has implemented any fire restrictions, but he thinks that if the temperatures stay high other counties will put restrictions in place too.
