Quarter Hoopla in Cheyenne

Laramie, WY – With pomp and circumstance today, the governor's office unveiled the state's shiny new coin. The quarter is embossed with the ubiquitous bucking bronco and the "Equality State" motto.
The U.S. Mint plans to produce 550 million Wyoming quarters before ceasing production in 10 weeks. Wyoming's quarter is the 44th in the 50-state series, with each quarter minted in order of the state's entry to the Union.

Students at UW Practice Safe Sex

Laramie, Wyoming – Pillow talk at the University of Wyoming helped score the university the number two spot in nation's sexual health rankings. A study released this week by Trojan Brand Condoms showed that UW jumped 90 spots from last year. Andrea Coryell (CORY-YELL) . . of the UW Wellness Center says the difference is the university's new commitment to keep an open dialogue on sex through peer education.

High Tech Money Approved For Teton County

Gillette, Wy – The Wyoming Business Council is awarding a million dollars for a Teton County project that could get Wyoming further into the high tech business field. Teton County would get the money on behalf of the economic development group Imagine Jackson, who will construct a building and lease it to the high tech research and develop firm Square One Systems Design. Business Ready Community Program spokesman Shawn Reece says the money is in addition to funding that was used to purchase the building site. He says it will diversify the local economy.
